Lucile Landis, 90, of Van Meter, died March 3, 1994 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services were March 7, 1994 at the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with Pastor Jack Comer officiating the services. Burial was at the Peru Cemetery.
She was born July 11, 1903, near Peru to L. A. and Ellen (Kerns) Draper. She married Franklin Jennings Landis in Winterset on April 10, 1924. She was a homemaker spending her early years in Madison County, and living the past 25 years in Van Meter. She was a member of the Van Meter Baptist Church and the Women's World Fellowship out of the First Church of the Open Bible in Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one brother; and two sisters.
Surviving relatives include two sons, Franklin J. Landis and wife Barbara of Omaha, Nebr., and James C. Landis and wife Jeannie of Liberty, Mo.; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
