1977Services Held For Herb Landis
Mrs. Gale Marshall of Des Moines, Bill Landis of Van Meter and Mrs. Mary Ellen Neal attended funeral services in Seattle, Washington, Saturday for their son and brother, Herbert E. Landis.
Mr. Landis was born August 16, 1924 in Des Moines. Herb, as he was called, lived in Madison County for many years and attended the Peru Schools. He was married March 22, 1947 to Lois Kempton, who survives him.
Mr. Landis was a veteran of World War II. He was a pilot for American Air Lines living in Chicago later transferring to Alaskan Airlines in Seattle.
He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Susan Marcus and three sons, Joe, who is attending college in Spokane, Tom of the United States Navy, stationed in the Aleutian Islands and Kenny at home, a brother, a sister and his mother. He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Saturday, February 19th at the Assembly of God Church in Seattle, of which he was a member, with the Rev. E. G. McGee officiating.
