Wednesday, October 25, 1972WILLIAM TUTTLE Of Winterset Dies
William Tuttle of Winterset died here Saturday, October 21, 1972, at the age of 63 years.
Mr. Tuttle had been a locomotive engineer at the Penn-Dixie quarry in Winterset for many years. He had moved to this community from Dallas county in 1952.
Mr. Tuttle was a native of Summersville, Mo., where he was born July 13, 1909, a son of Oscar A. and Juno M. Moore Tuttle. He was married at Lincoln, Nebr., on June 4, 1932, to Nova H. Stephenson. Her death occurred June 25, 1940. His second marriage took place at Bethany, Mo., on Dec. 6, 1941, to Beulah B. Kuehl, who survives him.
He was a member of the United Methodist church at Winterset.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a son, William Ronald Tuttle of Overland Park, Kan.; four daughters, Mrs. Edward Miller, Jr., of Winterset, Mrs. Nadine McNamara of West Des Moines, Mrs. Jean Friberg of Puyallup, Wash., and Donna Tuttle at home. He also leaves 12 grandchildren; three brothers, Robert Tuttle of Grimes, Marvin Tuttle of Ontario, Calif., and Jay Tuttle of Austin, Tex.; and three sisters, Mrs. James Taylor of Minburn, Mrs. Ray Miller of Des Moines, and Mrs. Howard Bauman of Grimes.
Funeral services were held Tuesday from the First United Methodist church in Winterset, conducted by the pastor, he Rev. Newton M. Coughenour. Burial was made in Elmwood cemetery at Minburn.
