OSCAR A. TUTTLE Dies At 71 Years

Oscar A. Tuttle, Monroe township resident, died at Memorial hospital in Winterset Monday, April 25, 1960, at the age of 71 years.

Mr. Tuttle was a retired farmer. He had lived in Madison county since 1945, when he came here from Granger. He was a native of Missouri, where he was born at Summerville on Jan. 9, 1889, a son of William and Sonora Dunkin Tuttle.

He was married at Summerville in 1908 to Juno M. Moore. She preceded him in death in 1957. In 1958 he was married to Pearl Tompkins, who survives him.

Mr. Tuttle was a member of the I.O.O.F. lodge for 33 years, and was a past noble grand of his lodge. He was a member of the Christian church.

He was the father of 12 children, three of whom died in infancy. Those surviving their father are John Tuttle of Winterset, Charles O. Tuttle of Hamel, Minn., Mrs. Pauline Taylor of Minburn, Robert Tuttle of Grimes, Mrs. Virginia Miller of Granger, Henry A. Tuttle of Des Moines, Mrs. Agnes Bauman of Grimes, Marvin Tuttle of San Diego, Calif., and Jay Tuttle of Ovid, N.Y. He also leaves 41 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Bertha Middleton of DeSoto, Kan.; and two brothers, Bert Tuttle of Sullivan, Mo., and James Tuttle of Braymer, Mo.

Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Winterset Christian church, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. Robert A. Owens. Burial was to be made in Brethren cemetery at Dallas Center.
