Funeral services for Virginia Kuhns, 73, were held Sat. Oct. 19 at Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. David Bauer officiating. She died October 17 at Mercy Medical Center, Des Moines.

Born in Afton February 4, 1918 to Ephie and Bertha (McKeehan) Wilson, she moved to Winterset 50 years ago. She married Orvil Dale Kuhns February 20, 1938 in Zion. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Kuhns was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son and two sisters.

Surviving are three sons, Richard of Hollywood, Fla., and David and Terry, both of Winterset; three daughters, Kathryn Harrell of Van Meter, Barbara Howard of Ankeny and Dixie Weldon of Aurora, Ill.; a brother, Woodrow Wilson of Red Oak, a sister, Hazel Parrott of Algona; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Burial was at Greenlawn Cemetery, Afton. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or American Lung Association.
