FRANK B. KLINGMAN DIED ON THURSDAY

Succumbs at Home Here After Long Illness; Was 74 Years of Age

Frank B. Klingman, one of Madison county's influential farmers, died at his home in Winterset last Thursday, after a long illness. He was 74 years of age.

Mr. Klingman was a life-long resident of Madison county. He was born in Madison township on July 4, 1868, the son of John and Elizabeth Sims Klingman. He was married, on Jan. 1, 1891, to Ella Evans. They lived on his parents' farm until 1901, when they purchased a farm in Douglas township. There they lived until Mr. Klingman's ill health forced them to move to Winterset last November.

In early married life he united with the Worthington M.E. church in which he was active for many years. He was also a member of the I.O.O.F. and Rebekah lodges of Winterset.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Marie Peterson; a son, John E. Klingman, all of Winterset; five grandchidlren, Galyn Peterson of Adair, Merle Peterson of the U.S. coast guard, Buena Howe of Camp Roberts, Calif., Eugene Peterson of the U.S. naval air corps, and Don Wayne Klingman of Winterset; two great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Jessie King and Mrs. Ella McDonald of Winterset and Mrs. Cora Shepherd of Anoka, Minn.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the Winterset Methodist church in charge of the Rev. Reed Kessler and W. A. Samp. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
