Winterset Madisonian – November 20, 1924

Mrs. Ida B. Korner, daughter of Henry O. and R. A. Allen, was born August 24, 1857 at Mendville, Crawford county, Pennsylvania and departed this life at her home in Winterset, Sunday afternoon, Nov. 9th, 1924. She accompanied her parents to Iowa at the age of 11, the journey being made with a team and wagon. The home was first located at Eddyville and after two years was changed to Winterset.

On Nov. 30, 1884 she was united in marriage to C. C. Korner. One daughter, Rhoda Lorraine, came to this home.

Those bereaved by the death of Mrs. Korner, the husband, the daughter, one brother, A. L. Allen of Albany, N.Y., and a host of friends have the deep sympathy of all who knew her.

Her life was worthy of the highest respect and esteem. True to her home and family, true to the things that are right, she went out with complete trust in the Savior, and assured those about her she was completely ready to go. A vacancy in a home on earth but another accession to the ranks of the redeemed in the other home above.

Funeral services were held at Tidricks funeral home, Tuesday, Nov. 17th at 2:30 p.m., conducted by Rev. D. J. Shenton, and interment made in the Winterset cemetery.
