LEO J. KORDICK OF DES MOINES DIES

Leo J. Kordick, a former resident of Madison county, died Thursday, December 3, in Des Moines, where he had lived in recent years. He was stricken suddenly with a heart condition. He was 71 years of age.

Mr. Kordick was a native of Bridgewater. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. John Kordick. His early life was spent in Adair county, where he was married to Anna Schreiner of Fontanelle, who survives him.

They came to Madison county about 1920, and farmed here until 1938. They moved from here to St. Marys, then to Woodward. He retired from farming in 1957 and moved into Des Moines.

He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Des Moines and of the Holy Name society.

In addition to his wife, he leaves four sons, John Kordick of Rockford, Joe Kordick of Woodward, Charles Kordick of Winterset and Leo M. Kordick of Des Moines; four daughters, Sister Mary Dorothy, O.S.B. of Clyde, Mo., Sister Mary Rose Clare, O.S.T. of Milwaukee, Wisc., Mrs. William Brimmer of Warren, Mich., and Mrs. Charles O'Roake of Colfax; a sister, Mrs. E. V. Burg of Woodward; a brother, Albert Kordick of Winterset; and 26 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday from Holy Trinity Catholic church in Des Moines, with burial in Glendale cemetery.
