MRS. CARRIE ANDERSON OF ST. CHARLES IS DEAD

Well-Known Resident There Died Saturday at Age of 72 Years

St. Charles (Special)--Feb. 23.--

Mrs. Carrie Anderson, a highly respected resident of St. Charles, passed away early Saturday morning at her home here at the age of 72 years. Her early married life was spent in this community and after the death of her husband 32 years ago, she enrolled in government work and taught in the Indian schools in Oklahoma, Idaho and Wisconsin, continuing in the work until she reached the age of retirement when she came back to St. Charles to make her home. Her illness dated back to 1939, when she had a stroke but was still able to get around until the past few months.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Jennie Sayre of St. Charles and Mrs. Alice Coffman of California, and two sons, Gilbert and William Anderson, both of Des Moines. She also leaves one brother, Louis Gilbert of Montana.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the Methodist church conducted by Rev. Michael Millen and assisted by Rev. J. F. Arnold, and burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
