Ruth E. Loomis

Ruth E. Loomis of Carlisle, who formerly lived in Winterset and St. Charles, died Tuesday, February 5, of injuries she suffered in an auto accident west of Carlisle. She was 33.

Born in Pleasantville, she graduated from Interstate 35 High School and had lived in Carlisle for the past three years. She was a secretary for Kemin Industries in Des Moines. Mrs. Loomis was a member of the St. Charles Christian Church and the Carlisle Women’s Softball League.

Surviving are a daughter Kristi of Carlisle; a brother, Roy H Shaffer of Des Moines; her stepfather, Wayne Bumbarger of St. Charles; two stepbrothers, Burnal Bumbarger of Winterset and Russell Bumbarger of Marion, and a stepsister, Joyce Belew of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Friday, February 8, at Richardson Funeral Home in Carlisle with burial at the New Virginia Cemetery.
