Garland W. Cook, Indianola

Funeral services for Garland W. Cook, 77 of Westview of Indianola Care Center, Indianola, were held Sat., April 11 at Pitzer United Methodist church with the Rev. Shirley Lockard officiating. Mr. Cook died of a respiratory ailment April 7 at Des Moines General Hospital.

He was born April 30, 1914 in Eagleville, Mo. To William and Belva (Justice) Cook and married Louise Ramsey on August 16, 1934. He moved to Madison County in 1957, coming from Warren County and was a farmer.

He was preceded in death by his wife, a brother and two sisters.

Surviving are tow sons, William L of Indianola and LaVere of Winterset; a daughter, Linda Scarberry of Rockford, Ill,; two brothers, Bert of Elliott and George of Lorimor; two sisters, Ruth Beasley of Leon and Mabel Vacek of Lowden; 14 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren.

Burial was at Dexter Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Pitzer United Methodist Church.
