A funeral service was held Tuesday, April 6, in Eugene, Oregon for Joseph "Will" Knox, a native of Earlham who died in Roseburg, Oregon on April 4 at the age of 89.
Born near Earlham on Aug. 13, 1892, he was the son of Joseph and Susan Taylor Knox.
On Aug. 29, 1922, he married Mable Marson in Des Moines.
He was a veteran, serving in the army in World War I. He was a member of the Earlham American Legion post and at the time of his death was commander of the W. W. I Barracks No. 2726 of Parma, Idaho.
Survivors include his wife, Mable; a daughter, Louise Hamilton of Eugene, Ore.; two sons, Clifford of Grandview, Idaho and Robert of Thurston, Ore.; four sisters, Berniece Clague and Annice Brown of Winterset, Edith Nelson of San Mateo, Calif., and Jessie Ruth of Carlsbad, Calif.; a brother Granville Knox of Fallbrook, Calif.; 7 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Interment was in the Earlham Cemetery.
