MRS. EARL KNOTT DIES AT 66 YEARS

Death Occurred Sunday at Memorial Hospital in Winterset

Mrs. Earl Knott, a life-long resident of the St. Charles community, died Sunday, Jan. 27, at Memorial hospital in Winterset. She was 66 years of age.

Mrs. Knott was born May 11, 1896 near St.Charles. She was the former Cora Johnston, daughter of Samuel and Martisha Phipps Johnston. As a young woman, she was married to Rex Leggett, who died a number of years ago. Later she was married to Earl Knott, who survives her.

Near surviving relatives include a son, Charles Leggett of Des Moines; a daughter, Mrs. Winifred Meilike of Council Bluffs; two brothers, Truman and Raymond Johnston of St. Charles; and a sister, Mrs. Villa Bumbarger of St. Charles.

Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. from the St. Charles Methodist church, in charge of the Rev. Howard Cho.
