Wednesday, January 15, 1969EARL KNOTT OF ST. CHARLES DIES
Earl T. Knott of St. Charles, a well-known resident of the Truro-St. Charles area all his life, died Sunday, Jan. 12 at Memorial hospital in Winterset. He was 74 years of age.
Mr. Knott was born in Warren county Feb. 3, 1894, a son of John L. and Laura Cashman Knott. His active life was spent in farming. He was a member of the St. Charles Methodist church.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Thelma Frank of Winterset, and Mrs. Twyla McCuddin of Truro; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a brother, Walter Knott of Des Moines; and a sister, Mrs. Millie Thompson of Long Beach, Calif.
Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the St. Charles Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. Jim Louk. Burial was to be made in the Winterset cemetery.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 15, for Earl Thomas Knott, 74 who died at the Madison County Hospital in Winterset on Sunday, January 12. The Rev. James Louk officiated at the 2 p.m. service from St. Charles Methodist Church. Interment was in St. Charles cemetery.
Earl Thomas Knott was born, February 3, 1894, in Warren County, Iowa, son of John L. Knott and Laura Cashman Knott. He married Elizabeth Picken on August 11, 1914. Two children were born to this union. He was a lifetime resident of Warren and Madison counties where he farmed for many years before retiring. He was a member of the Methodist church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Twyla Evelyn McCuddin of Truro and Thelma Ruth Frank of Winterset; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one brother, Walter Knott of Des Moines and one sister, Mrs. Millie Thompson, of Long Beach, California.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth; one granddaughter, Carolyn Fran, and one brother and sister.
