OBITUARY OF ILA SLAVENS KNAPPEN

Funeral services for Ila Slavens Knappen of Des Moines were held at Hamilton's Funeral Home February 9. She died of a heart attack February 6 in Butler, Missouri. She was returning from a vacation when she died. Burial was in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Knappen was the daughter of Tide and Marie Slavens. She was a graduate of the Earlham consolidated school. She had lived in Des Moines and California before she returned to Des Moines where she has lived for the last nine years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Highland Park American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include two brothers, Guy of Des Moines and Donald of Joplin, Missouri.
