Funeral Here This Wednesday

Funeral services for Phillip O. Kirkendall, age 58, of Des Moines, were held this Wednesday, January 2 at 1 p.m. from Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.

Mr. Kirkendall died December 30 at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines.

Survivors include his wife, the former Augusta Kiddoo of Winterset.

Burial will be made in the Winterset Cemetery.

Phillip Kirkendall Services Held

Funeral services were held in Winterset last Wednesday, January 2, for Phillip O. Kirkendall, 58, of Des Moines. He died at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Des Moines on Saturday, December 26.

Mr. Kirkendall was born at Albia, Iowa on August 3, 1915, the son of George and Effie Mae Kirkendall. He was married to Augusta Kiddoo at Winterset on December 11, 1953.

Mr. Kirkendall was an apartment building manager, and had been employed as a Des Moines city fireman for 15 years. He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Augusta of Des Moines; a son, Robert, of Waterloo; a daughter, Mrs. Linda Martin of Soap Lake, Wash.; and his mother, Mrs. Effie Maglore of Galesburg, Ill.

Also surviving are three brothers: Raymond of Des Moines; Lyle of Ottumwa; and Gene of Galesburg, Ill.; and four sisters: Mrs. Edith Christensen of Galesburg, Ill.; Mrs. Dorothy Andrews of Altoona, Ill.; Mrs. Katherine Spracklin of Starzville, Texas; and Betty Kirkendall of Dallas Texas. In addition, three grandchildren and one half-sister, Mrs. Julia Davis of Galesburg, Ill., also survive.

Services were conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, at the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset, with the Rev. E. E. Jandebeur officiating.

Burial was in the Winterset Cemetery with military graveside services.
