Long-Time Resident Here Died Thursday in Des Moines
George Judson Danforth, a resident of Madison county for 61 years, died last Thursday in Des Moines, where he had made his home the past few years. He was 75 years of age.
Mr. Danforth was the son of William and Lydia Danforth, and was born in Winterset on Oct. 4, 1869. He made his home in or near Winterset for the next 61 years of his life, before moving to Des Moines. He was a member of the Foursquare church.
He is survived by three brothers, E. A. Danforth of Denver, Colo., Charles D. Danforth of Glendale, Calif., and Frank Danforth of Des Moines; and two sisters, Mrs. Willis Woodward and Mrs. Stella James of Des Moines.
Funeral services were held here Monday from the Anderson home for funerals, in charge of the Rev. Tom Foglesong, pastor of the Church of Christ. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
