MRS. C. J. MILLER DIED LAST FRIDAY

Funeral Services Were Held Here Sunday for Wife of Winterset Druggist

Mrs. Clifford J. Miller, a resident of Winterset for the past two years, died at the Lutheran hospital in Des Moines last Friday, following a major operation. She was 51 years of age.

Mrs. Miller was a native of Early, Iowa, where she was born Aug. 4, 1892. She was the former Vergie Mae Mason, daughter of Arthur and Eva Orcutt Mason.

In 1915 she was married to Walter W. Little of Early. They were the parents of one son. In 1919, they moved to Ft. Dodge, where Mr. Little died in 1921. She continued to live in Ft. Dodge until 1925, when, because of ill health, she returned to Early to live with her parents.

On Oct. 8, 1936, she was married to Clifford J. Miller, then of Sioux City. Because of her health, they moved to California, where her son was located, then returned to Iowa to live in Des Moines for a few years. For the past two years her home had been in Winterset, where Mr. Miller owned and operated the Miller Drug store.

She had been a member of the Methodist church since 1904. She was also affiliated with the Eastern Star lodge, the American Legion auxiliary, and Iris club and Pythian Sisters in this community.

Brief funeral services were held here Sunday from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home, and the body was taken to Early for burial on Wednesday afternoon.
