A resident of Madison County for 23 years, Elsie Muriel Kirk, 82, died Wednesday, December 8, 1976 at Madison County Memorial Hospital. she was born March 2, 1894, in Peru, Iowa the daughter of Albert A. and Mahalia Isabelle Parker Allen.
A housewife affiliated with the Madison Chapel Christian Church, Mrs. Kirk was married to George Kirk on February 24, 1915 in Creston. He preceded her in death on March 13, 1952.
Survivors include a son, Wendell Allen Kirk of Lorimor; a daughter, Mrs. Lena M. Watson of Des Moines; a brother, Vernon Allen of Uvalda, Texas; three sisters, Edith Graham of Raymond, Washington, Neta Wilkins of San Antonio, Texas and Leone Shelley of Indianola; six grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Kirk was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and four brothers.
Funeral services for Elsie Muriel Kirk were conducted Friday, December 10, at 1:30 p.m. from Collins Funeral Home in Winterset, Rev. Paul Bousfield presiding. Burial was made at the Union Cemetery.
