Clayton Orville Kirk, 82, of Winterset died of a heart ailment of September 12, 1992, at Winterset Care Center. Funeral services were held Tues., Sept. 15 at the Murray Church of Christ.
Mr. Kirk was born near Murray on April 2, 1910 to Frank and Maggie (Imes) Kirk. He married Bessie Shaw on February 19, 1932 in Lorimor. He lived in Clarke County and in Madison County most of his life. He moved to the care center about five years ago. He was a farmer and a 50-year member of the Lorimor Masonic Lodge and attended Murray Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a daughter; and a son; and a grandson.
Surviving relatives include three sons, Charles Moore of Truro, Robert Moore of Pueblo, Colo., and Frank Kirk of New Virginia; a daughter, Darlene Jacobe of Mesa, Ariz.; two sisters, Francis Schoonover of Winterset and Margaret Evison of Truro; a brother, John Kirk of Winterset; 20 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to his church or the Lorimor Masonic Lodge. Burial was at Union Cemetery in Clarke County.
