JOHN ROACH DIED FEB. 17 AT 89 YEARS
Lee Township Resident for 40 Years Passes in Des Moines
John Roach, formerly a well-known farmer in Lee township, where he lived for 40 years, died Feb. 17 in Des Moines at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Kane, after a 2-year illness. He was 89 years of age.
His wife and one son, Maurice, had preceded him in death. He is survived by three sons, Martin J. Roach of Bevington, John Roach, Jr., of Indianola, and Daniel Roach of San Francisco, Calif.; and three daughters, Mrs. A. V. Hanley of Adair, and Mrs. J. F. Walsh and Mrs. Kane of Des Moines. He also leaves 12 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Feb. 19 from St. Patrick's church in Lee township and burial was made in the cemetery there.
