MARIE PETERSON RITES HELD FRIDAY

Winterset Woman Died Early Last Week at Age of 52 Years

Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Peterson, of this community, who died Tuesday of last week at the Hammond Convalescent hospital in West Des Moines, were held here from the Winterset Methodist church last Friday. The Rev. Reed Kessler conducted the rites, and burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.

Mrs. Peterson was 52 years of age. She was the former Marie Klingman, daughter of Frank and Ella Klingman, and was born in this county. She graduated from the Winterset high school with the class of 1911, and taught in the rural schools of the county until 1914, when she was married to Andrew L. Peterson.

She was a member of the Worthington Methodist church, and the Rebekah lodge of Earlham.

She is survived by her four children, Mrs. Buena Howe of Paso Robles, Calif., Galyn Peterson of Adair, Merle Peterson of the U.S. coast guard, and Eugene Peterson of the U.S. naval air corps. She also leaves her mother, Mrs. Ella Klingman, and a brother, John E. Klingman, both of Winterset, and three grandchildren.
