MARION TRAVIS Rites Monday

Marion Edna Travis of Winterset died Friday, March 7, 1980, at Madison County Memorial Hospital at the age of 72. Funeral serevices were held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 10, at Kale Funeral Home in Truro. Burial was at Peru Cemetery with Rev. George Campbell officiating.

Born on April 24, 1907, in Connecticut, she was the daughter of Edward D. and Florence Buckbee Johnson. She received her education in the East and on Oct. 13, 1944, was united in marriage to Elwood M. Travis, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are three daughters, Genevieve Naughton of Des Moines, Betty Kirkland of Macksburg and Lorna St.Gelais of Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.; eight grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
