E. L. TRAVIS Of Peru Died at 56 Years

Edmund L. Travis, a well known citizen of Peru, died at his home there on Tuesday of last week. He was 58 years of age.

Mr. Travis was born at Old Peru on Oct. 25, 1886, the son of Sylvester and Mary Travis. He was married to Cora M. Benson on Dec. 23, 1906. They were the parents of eight children, two of whom died in infancy.

He is survived by his wife; six children, Mrs. Inez Ward of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Maxine Johnson of Kent, Mrs. Doris McKeever of Peru, Mrs. Mary Huss of Des Moines, Pvt. Kendall Travis of the U. S. army, now stationed in France, and Edmund C. Travis at home. He also leaves a brother, M. B. Travis of Winterset; a sister, Mrs. Maude Lorimor of Monte Vista, Colo.; 11 grandchildren and one greaata grandchild.

Funeral services were held from the Peru Methodist church last Thursday, in charge of the Rev. F. B. Harris. Burial was made in the Peru cemetery.
