HOMER TRAVIS, Peru

Ira Homer Travis was born near Peru, in Madison County, July 14, 1875 and passed away at the Iowa Lutheran hospital, Dec. 7, 1923 at the age of 48 years, 4 months and 23 days.He lived in Madison county all his life, with the exception of the last 3 1/2 years, which were spent in Des Moines. He was united in marriage to Miss Ada Seifred, Jan. 1, 1899. He united with the M. E. church at Peru in 1904.

He was kind, loving and devoted to his family and leaves loving memories in the hearts of those who survive him. He leaves to hold him in memory, his wife, and three children: Mrs. Thelma Gast, Mrs. Helen Roders and Ira D. and a grandson, Earl Travis Rodgers, living at Des Moines; also his father, mother, two brothers, Derwin and Fred; two sisters, Mrs. Marguerite Priest and Mabel Travis, all of Peru; besides a host of friends and other relatives.

Funeral services were held on Monday from the Peru M. E. church, conducted by Rev. Corkill of Elliott, a former pastor. Burial was at Peru cemetery.
