GEORGE GILLESPIE DIES AT GREENFIELD

Succumbs at Home of His Daughter After Brief Illness

George Gillespie, life-long resident of Madison and Adair counties, died last week at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Edd Combs after a short illness. He was 64 years of age.

Mr. Gillespie who was a son of George W. and Mary V. Gordon Gillespie, was born June 18, 1881. He was married to Julia F. Reimuth, Feb. 9, 1904, who preceded him in death in November, 1925. They were the parents of four children.

In 1937 he was married to Faye Vandewater in Wahoo, Neb.

He leaves his wife; his children: Forrest C. Gillespie of Gowrie, Mary Ella Fox of Winterset, Lyle L. Gillespie, Esther I. Combs, and Shirley Vandewater, all of Greenfield. He also leaves six grandchildren and two brothers, Bert Gillespie of Sidney, Neb., and Clair Gillespie of Dalton, Neb.

Funeral services were held last Friday afternoon at two o'clock at the Hebron church, conducted by the Rev. A. R. Weed, assisted by the Rev. P. V. Crouse. Interment was made in the Kivett cemetery in Madison county. Pallbearers were Gail Wilson, Ray Denny, Louis Givan, Les Hadley, Burl Hardin and Vern Denton.
