ELIAS A. SIMPSON DIED ON SATURDAY

Life-Long Resident Here Buried at Lorimor Tuesday

Elias Alfred Simpson, a resident of Madison county for most of his life, died at the Lane Nursing home in Winterset last Saturday. He was 75 years old and had been in poor health for the past eight years.

Mr. Simpson spent his entire life in this county with the exception of eight years at Lorimor. He was born near Barney on Jan. 16, 1871, the son of Antipas and Harriett Dunaway Simpson. He was married June 3, 1898, to Hannah Johnson of Murray.

He is survived by his wife; four children, Mrs. Gladys Wight, Mrs. Frances Handley and Earl Simpson of Winterset, and Charles Simpson of Truro; and seven grandchildren. He also leaves three brothers, Robert Simpson of Colona, Colo., Tom Simpson of Los Angeles, Calif., Will Simpson of Churchville, and one sister, Mrs. Hattie Keyes of Billings, Mont.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Methodist church at Lorimor, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. J. A. Englund. Burial was made in the Lorimor cemetery.
