WILLIAM TIPLING Died Last Friday

William Tipling of Winterset died Friday, Jan. 5, 1962, at Madison county Memorial hospital here. He was 77 years of age.

Mr. Tipling was born in Adair county on Oct. 7, 1884, a son of Robert and Elizabeth Long Tipling. His life was spent in Adair county, where he engaged in farming, until 1958, when he moved to Winterset.

He was married Feb. 23, 1910, to Maude Rogers of Adair county. She survives him.

He was a past president of the Morrocco Horse association of Adair county. He had been baptized in the Methodist faith.

In addition to his wife, he leaves a daughter, Mrs. Wayne Mallatt of El Centro, Calif.; four sons, Kenneth Tipling of Tucson, Ariz., Robert Tipling of Greenfield, Dale Tipling of Winterset, and Donald Tipling of DeSoto; three brothers, Fred, Arthur and Herbert Tipling, all of Fontanelle; and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Glade, May Tipling and Mable Tipling, all of Fontanelle. He also leaves 12 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Ewing Funeral home in Fontanelle, conducted by the Rev. Bruce Eshelman and the Rev. Robert Owens. Burial was made in the Fontanelle cemetery.
