Mrs. Bessie Thomson Kench, a native of Douglas township and a former teacher in the Winterset schools, died this Tuesday at Washington, Iowa. She was 85 years of age.
Nearest surviving relative is a brother, Hugh Thomson, of Sandstone, Minn.
The body will be brought here for burial this Friday in the Stringtown cemetery in Douglas township. Graveside services will be held there at 2 p.m.

WASHINGTON, Iowa – Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Sherman-Eden funeral home for Mrs. Bessie Kench, 85, who died Monday night in the Washington county hospital. She was a resident of the United Presbyterian home here. Graveside rites will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Stringtown cemetery near Winterset.
