1962RILEY W. KEMPLIN DIED LAST THURSDAY
Riley W. Kemplin, patient at a nursing home in St. Charles the last 18 months, died there last Thursday, Sept. 13. He was 71 years of age.
Mr. Kemplin was born at Afton in 1891, but most of his life was spent in Winterset and Union township. He worked as a wood cutter for many years. He was a veteran of World War I.
Nearest surviving relatives is a niece, Mrs. Marjorie Miller of West Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his brother, Harvey Kemplin of Winterset and by two sisters, Mrs. Frank Webb of Des Moines and Mrs. Chris Abild of West Des Moines.
Funeral services were held Monday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. John E. Fink, pastor of the First United Presbyterian church of Winterset. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery, with graveside ritual by Green-Rogers post of the American Legion.
