Marjorie Lillian Kellogg, of Winterset, a resident of Madison County for most of her life, died at Maple Lin Manor in Earlham last Saturday September 21, at the age of 81.
Mrs. Kellogg was born in Madison County on August 30, 1893, the daughter of Edward B. and Clementina Dods Keller.
She was married to Sylvester Franklin Kellogg at Winterset on September 8, 1920.
Mrs. Kellogg spent most of her life in Madison County, except for several years in Virginia and Illinois as a youth. She was baptized in the Episcopal Church and had attended the Primitive Baptist Church near Winterset for the past 50 years.
She is survived by two daughters Edmonia Leonard of Springfield, Missouri and Elizabeth Greenwood of Winterset and by a son, Bruce Kellogg of Ames. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Kellogg was preceded in death by her husband; by one son, Miles; and by one sister, Gertrude Powell.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 24 at the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset, with Elder Walter Acton of Kirksville, Missouri officiating. Burial was in the Primitive Baptist Cemetery near Winterset.
