MRS. LAURA DUDNEY OF TRURO SUCCUMBS

Dies at Osceola Hospital on Feb. 26 at Age of 78 Years

Mrs. Laura B. Dudney, a resident of the Truro community for many years, died at an Osceola hospital Feb. 26 after an illness of several weeks. She was 78 years of age.

Mrs. Dudney spent most of her life in Madison county. She was a Gold Star mother, having given her oldest son in the service of his country during World War I.

Mrs. Dudney was the former Laura Belle Douglas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Douglas, and was born in Glenwood, Aug. 25, 1867. She was married to Abe Dudney on June 21, 1888. They were the parents of six children, five of whom, with her husband, preceded her in death.

She is survived by one son, Ash Dudney; one brother, and one sister.

Funeral services were held last Thursday from the Kale Funeral home in Truro, in charge of the Rev. Mr. Huff, pastor of the Truro Methodist church. Burial was made in the Union cemetery.
