CLYDE HUSTED DIED IN HIGHWAY CRASH

Resident of Madison County Most of Life Killed Near Tingley

Clyde C. Husted, a resident of Madison county for most of his life, was instantly killed the morning of Feb. 19 in a collision near Tingley, between a truck and the car he was driving. He was 45 years of age.

Mr. Husted was the son of Thomas E. and Lacinda Husted, and was born in Madison county May 25, 1900. His early life was spent in the St. Charles community. He was married Feb. 20, 1918, to Christina Weed. They were the parents of eight children. One daughter, Katherine, died in infancy, and one son, Rex Husted, was killed in action in Italy March 8, 1945.

Mr. Husted moved his family to Winterset from St. Charles two years ago, and after living here a year they moved to Creston.

He is survived by his wife; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Husted of St. Charles; six children, Robert Husted of Ft. Collins, Colo., Mrs. Lila Heggen of Alleman, Arthur Husted of Des Moines, Paul Husted of the Merchant Marines, and Barbara and Mary Husted at home. He also leaves two brothers and three half-brothers.

Funeral services were held last Friday from the St. Charles Methodist church, and burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
