Funeral services were held Sunday from Anderson's home for funerals in Winterset for Mrs. Martha Newlon of this community, whose death occurred Jan. 26, 1955 at Jefferson.
Mrs. Newlon had gone to Jefferson from Winterset about two weeks ago, and was emloyed there when she suffered a fatal stroke.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Johnston, Martha Newlon was born in Madison county, and continued to live most of her life in this community.
Mrs. Newlon's eldest son, Robert Newlon of Dallas, Tex., was present for the funeral services Sunday. Her other son, Lt. Col. Clark Newlon of the U.S. Air Force, has been stationed in Oslo, Norway. He flew home by plane, but did not arrive in Winterset until Monday. He was present for the burial services Tuesday.

Page 5MARTHA NEWLON, 73 DIES AT JEFFERSON
Martha Newlon, 73 of Winterset died suddenly this Wednesday morning, Jan. 26, at the Green County hospital in Jefferson, Ia.
Mrs. Newlon went to Jefferson about two weeks ago, where she was employed. She suffered a stroke Tuesday, from which she failed to recover.
The body is being returned to the Anderson Home for Funerals in Winterset. However complete funeral arrangements are still pending.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Johnston, Martha Newlon was born in Madison county and continued to live most of her life in this community.
Surviving are two sons, Robert of Dallas, Texas, and Lt. Col. Clarke Newlon who is stationed with the U. S. Air Force in Sweden.
