Dexter Woman Dies Suddenly

Mrs. Anna Kaufman residing in Dexter, lost her life in a peculiar manner Monday morning, falling on the ice in her yard with such violence as to dislocate the bones of the knee, one of these severing the large artery and causing the unfortunate woman to bleed almost to death before assistance could be given. She was a very large woman, weighing close to 350 pounds and was utterly unable to help herself after the accident. Neither were her children able to accomplish anything toward moving her, and not until the help of several men was obtained could she be lifted in a blanket and carried into the home. By the time medical assistance could be secured, her life had nearly ebbed out with the blood stream, and she passed gently away in much the manner that she had hoped she would die.

Funeral services were held this forenoon at eleven o’clock at the German Lutheran Church near Dexter, and interment made in Dexter Cemetery.
