Winterset Laundromat Owner Was 67 Years of Age At Death
Frank Kaufman of Winterset, owner and operator of the K. and K. Laundromat here since 1958, died this Wednesday, March 10 at a Des Moines hospital. He was 67 years of age.
Mr. Kaufman was a native of Warren County, where he was born near Milo on Feb. 17, 1898, a son of A. I. and Louella Graham Kaufman. He was in the garage business in Milo for many years then moved to Adel in 1946 to operate an ice cream business. From there he moved to Oskaloosa in 1956 and to Winterset two years later.
He was a member of the Masonic lodge at Milo. At Adel he was a charter member of the Lions club, transferring to the Winterset club when he moved here.
Mr. Kaufman was married in Des Moines on May 11, 1918 to Hallie Long, who survives him. He also leaves a son, John Kaufman of Adel; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Swanson of Duluth, Minn., and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held this Friday at 2 p.m. from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset in charge of the Rev. William E. Bowles, pastor of the First Christian Church.
