Former Resident Died in Nebraska

Alva B. Weeks, a native of Madison county, died at his home in Lincoln, Neb., on June 25. He was 82 years of age.

Mr. Weeks was the son of William and Mary Davis Weeks, and was born here April 14, 1863. He was married in 1892 to Nina Schmidt. Her death occurred in 1916.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ila Burcham of Lincoln and Mrs. Freda Thomas of Kearney, Neb.; two sons, Albert Weeks of Santa Monica, Calif., and Kenneth Weeks of Burbank, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and six brothers and sisters.

Funeral services and burial were held at Lincoln.

Alva B. Weeks, 82, Retired Wallpaper Dealer, Dies Monday

Alva B. Weeks, 82, 2530 Vine street, died Monday morning at a local hospital after an extended illness.

Born in Winterset, Ia., he came to Lincoln in 1919. He owned and operated the Weeks’ Wallpaper Store, 1041 N street, until his retirement four years ago due to ill health.

Surviving are two sons, Kenneth, Burbank, Calif., and Albert B. Santa Monica, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Frieda Thomas, Kearney, Neb., and Mrs. Ila Burcham, Lincoln; and eight grandchildren.

WEEKS—Alva B. Weeks, 82, 2530 Vine, died Monday. He leaves two sons, Kenneth, Burbank, Calif., and Albert B., Santa Monica; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Frieda Thomas, Kearney and Mrs. Ila Burcham. Lincoln, and eight great grandchildren. Funeral 1:30 p. m. Wednesday at Umbergers, Rev. Ada K. Sanderson officiating. Mrs. Carol Tuttle will sing, accompanied by Mrs. Virgil Ephington.
