C. B. THRIFT Dies After Long Illness

C. B. Thrift, a well - known Lincoln township farmer and life-long resident of Madison county, died at his home southwest of Winterset last Wednesday, July 20, 1955, after an extended illness. He was 72 years of age.

Mr. Thrift's entire life was spent in Lincoln township. He was born there Feb. 27, 1883, a son of C. C. and Delilah Harrell Thrift. He was the last surviving member of that family.

Mr. Thrift was married at Ames on March 30, 1929, to Jennie O'Garro, who survives him.

He was a charter member of the Madison county Farm Bureau, and for several years was a director of the Farmer's Cooperative association of Winterset.

Funeral services were held from Richards' Funeral home in Winterset Saturday, conducted by the Rev. W. W. Steinmetz, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
