Funeral and Eastern Star services for Thelma Mabel Jones, 68, were held Wed., Dec. 12, at 1:30 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home with Pastor Gene R. Swim officiating. Jones died at Bethesda Care Center December 9.
She was born May 20, 1922 in Polk County to William James and Mabel Delpha (Wright) Tollenaar. She married W. E. "Al" Jones October 19, 1952. A Winterset resident since 1952 she was a homemaker and worked to Meredith Publishing in Des Moines for several years. She was a member of First Christian Church, Winterset and Eastern Star Chapter 180 of Winterset.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and four brothers.
Surviving are a daughter, Jo Ann Slayton of Des Moines; a sister, Shirley A. Swim of Topeka, Kan.; a half-sister, Gertrude Barnes of Pacific Grove, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
Burial was at Winterset Cemetery. Memorials will be made to the family.
