Thelma Berniece Jones, 72, died August 20, 1993 at Winterset Care Center South. Funeral services were held Monday at Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. David Bauer officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.
Mrs. Jones was born in Madison County on June 30, 1921 to Lloyd and Margaret (Picken) Jones. She worked as a government and employee in Washington D. C. for many years, returning to Winterset three years ago. She was a member of Zion Federated Church.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Surviving relatives include her mother, Margaret Jones of Winterset; one brother, Lyle Jones and wife Charlene of Oelwein; four sisters, Garnetta Jones of Winterset; Kathryn Ford of Long Beach, Calif., Geraldine Grubbs and husband LaVerne of Creston and Doris Boots and husband Robert of Des Moines; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
