NILES JONES DIES SUNDAY AT BOONE

Was Resident of Near Truro Most of Life; Services Held Wednesday

Niles N. Jones, a long-time resident of the Truro community, died Sunday, Sept. 11, at Boone, where he had lived the last 11 years. He was 77 years of age.

Mr. Jones was born near Truro on Nov. 7, 1882, a son of Benton and Laura Foreman Jones. Forty-one years of his life were spent in the Truro community. He engaged in farming during his active years. He was a member of the Masonic lodge at Truro.

He was married Jan. 15, 1908, to Nellie Davis, who survives him. He also leaves a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Payton of Winlock, Wash.; two sons, John and Robert Jones of Stratford; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and five sisters, Mrs. Susie Gracey of Truro, Mrs. Grace Gracey of Indianola, Mrs. Hester Muselman of Osceola; Mrs. Hazel Jones of Des Moines, and Mrs. Eathol Henthorne of Los Angeles.

Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday afternoon from the Kale Funeral home in Truro, conducted by the Rev. Dale Lockart. Burial was to be made in the Fields cemetery in Clarke county.
