Keith W. Jones, Winterset

Keith W. Jones, 73, of Winterset, died of esophageal cancer Sept. 11, 1999, at his home.

Funeral services were held Tuesday Sept. 14, at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset. Burial was at Van Meter Cemetery with military honors performed by V.F.W. Post 8142 and American Legion Post 184 and a Masonic service performed by Evening Star Post 43.

Keith Jones was born April 28, 1926 to Floyd W. and Edith M. (McDonald) Jones of Jewell. His marriage to Joanne Hulse took place Sept. 4, 1955 in Van Meter. A World War II Army veteran, Keith was involved with farming, building and agricultural real estate appraisal. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winterset, the Masonic Lodge and V.F.W.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, Jeff K. Jones (wife Ginger) of Norwalk; John R. Jones (fiancee Tamie Fisher) of Winterset and Jay D. Jones of San Diego, Calif.; three daughters, Pauletta Lindner of Odebolt, Alice Gwinner of Waukee and Darla Rentschler of Cedar Rapids; one brother, Carroll Jones of Dallas Center; three sister, Mary Lou Fisher and Martha Mae McIntire, both of Webster City and Leota Eittreim of Bellevue, Neb.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Middle River Hospice or the First United Methodist Church of Winterset.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset.
