Wednesday, June 13, 1945Mrs. Olive W. Crawford, a life-long resident of this community, died last Thursday at her home in Winterset. She was 62 years of age.
Mrs. Crawford was the former Olive Garrison, daughter of John and Elizabeth Garrison, and was born at Winterset May 27, 1883. She graduated from the Winterset high school and spent 19 years as a clerk in the Koser Brothers store here.
She also served one term as Madison county recorder.
She was married on Jan. 12, 1924, to Charlie Crawford, of Jackson township. She served as a foster mother to her nephew, who was taken into her home as a child. Her husband died in 1932.
She joined the Baptist church at an early age and remained a life-long member.
Mrs. Crawford is survived by one brother, W. E. Garrison of Winterset; the nephew, LeRoy Garrison, now of Ft. Lewis, Wash.
Funeral services were held Monday from the Ramsey-Richards Funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Floyd and Linda Tolby. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
