Services for James Ralph Jones, 63, of Truro were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 20, at the Christian Church in Truro, of which he was a member.

Burial was in the Young Cemetery at Truro with Rev. David Wagner officiating. Mr. Jones died April 17 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital.

Born on September 1, 1915, in Burrell Township of Decatur County, he was the son of James Francis and Sarah Effie Horn Jones, who preceded him in death. He attended Decatur and Madison County schools, and on June 29, 1942, was married to Georgia Mae Hess at Bethany, Mo.

A service station operator, Mr. Jones was a charter member of the Lion's Club, a member of the Truro Business Men's Club and was on the Volunteer Fire Department 20 years, including two years as chief.

Survivors include his wife, Georgia; a son, James A. Jones of Winterset; two daughters, Janet K. Thornburg of Baxter and Sandra J. Jones of Des Moines; three sisters, Mabel McCain and Wilma Dilliner, both of Des Moines and Doris Rhodes of Whittier, Calif.; five brothers, Harold Jones and Rev. Howard Jones, both of Des Moines, Vere Jones of Grand Junction, Colo., George Ronald Jones of St. Charles and John W. Jones of Seattle, Wash.; and five grandchildren.
