Wednesday, February 19, 1947Mrs. Mary J. Hann, life-long resident of Madison county, died Sunday afternoon, Feb. 16 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ray Nelson, of near Peru. Mrs. Hann, who was 80 years of age, had been ill for the last year.
The deceased was the former Mary J. Hogue, daughter of William and Elizabeth Humphrey Hogue, and was born on the farm in Scott township on which the Nelsons now reside. This farm had always been her home, with the exception of the few years she resided in Winterset.
Her husband, Andrew Johnson Hann, died in 1939. She continued to live in Winterset until about two years ago, when she went to live with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Nelson.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Flossie Palmer of Burbank, Calif. and Mrs. Nelson.
Funeral services will be held this Friday at 2 p.m., from the Winterset Methodist church, in charge of the Rev. Paul Hann of Knoxville, and the Methodist minister at Peru. Burial will be made in the Peru cemetery.
