Mrs. Anna Street, long-time resident at Peru, died Friday, Jan. 17 at the Iowa Lutheran hospital in Des Moines. She had been in the hospital since breaking her hip several weeks ago.

Mrs. Street was 89 years of age at the time of her death. She was a native of Denmark, where she was born in Tornby, May 13, 1857, as Anna Christina Ovesen. When she was 17 years old she came to America with her parents. They settled at Newton.

In 1873 she was married to Nels Jorgensen. They were the parents of six children, of whom three survive. They are: George R. Jorgensen of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Jennie Lorimor of Altoona, and Edwin M. Jorgensen of Peru. The husband and father died in 1889.

She was married a second time, Nov. 8, 1891, to William W. Street. They were the parents of two children, both of whom survive. They are: Mrs. Fannie A. Justice of Oklahoma City, Okla., and James O. Street of Peru. She also leaves six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was a member of the Peru Methodist church.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the Kale Funeral home, at Truro, in charge of the Rev. J. D. Stevens of the Peru Methodist church. Burial was made in the Peru cemetery.
