Mrs. Jim Shelley Died Here Tuesday

Death Occurred at Age 62 Years at Memorial Hospital

Mrs. Jim Shelley of Winterset died at Memorial hospital here Tuesday, July 24. She had entered the hospital last Thursday.

Mrs. Shelley was 62 years of age. She was born at McFall, Mo. on Dec. 23, 1888, and had lived in Madison county for the last 25 years.

She was married to Jim Shelley in 1903. His death occurred in 1949.

Mrs. Shelley is survived by one son, Cleo Shelley of near Winterset; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Davis of San Gabriel, Calif., and Mrs. Mary Aiken (Akin) of Estes Park, Colorado; and four grandchildren. She also has seven living sisters and one brother.

Funeral services will be held this Thursday at 2:30 p.m. from the Richards Funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Sherman Hanson, pastor of the Winterset Church of Christ. Burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.

Mrs. Jim Shelley passed away at the Madison county Memorial hospital in Winterset Tuesday, July 24. Mrs. Shelley was 62 years old. Death was caused by a stroke. She had been a semi-invalid for several years. She is survived by a son and two daughters. Funeral services and burial were at Winterset.

Both of her daughters were at her bedside at the time of her death. Her husband passed away a few years ago. The Shelleys were former residents of this vicinity.
