Edward Jones, Truro

Edward Franklin Jones, 90, of Truro, died of a heart ailment Aug. 7, 1995 at the Care Center South in Winterset. Funeral services are Thur., Aug. 10, at 11 a.m. at the Truro Congregational United Church of Christ in Truro. The Rev. Richard Harbart of Des Moines will officiate the services and burial will be at Field's Cemetery in Clarke County. Visitation is open after 9 a.m. Wednesday at Kale Funeral Home in Truro. FAmily visitation will be 7-8 p.m. Wednesday evening.

He was born near Peru on Aug. 14, 1904 to John Franklin and Emma Fannie (Gonseth) Jones. He married Velma Sullivan on Feb. 11, 1927 at the Methodist Church Parsonage in Winterset. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Ivy Masonic Lodge at Truro. He was also a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Truro.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant brother; two brothers; and one sister.

Surviving relatives include his wife; one son, Franklin Jones and wife Glida of Winterset; one daughter, Ardis Leggett and husband Dale of Beatrice, Nebr.; two sisters, Pearl Billings of Cedar Falls and Goldie Kuster of Granby, Colo.; one brother, Art Jones of Cedar Falls; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
