KATHRYN THORNBURG, New Virginia

Kathryn Mahala Thornburg, 81, of New Virginia, died of a kidney ailment May 28, 1994 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines. Graveside services were May 31, 1994 at the New Virginia Cemetery.

She was a homemaker born in Polk County, and had lived in New Virginia for the past 35 years.

Surviving relatives include one son, Leonard Rehard of Lacona; four daughters, Betty Flemming of Winterset, Joann Breese of Attica, Verna Lee Self of Creston and Rose Gruder of Brooksville, Fla.; two sisters, Juanita Lane of West Des Moines and Dorothy Hanks of Indianola; 26 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
