Arthur Cleve Jones, Winterset

Services for Arthur Cleve Jones, 86, Winterset, who died July 8 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital were held Tuesday, July 12 at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. John Bush officiating. Burial was in the Winterset Cemetery with a military graveside service.

Mr. Jones, who had been residing at the Care Center North, was born at Farnhamville, Iowa on Mar. 8, 1897, the son of Steven and Rachel Stevens Jones. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps in World War I and lived in this area most of his life, engaging in farming.

He married Zella Nelson Mar. 8, 1916 in Winterset. He was a member of the Christian Church and the American Legion.

Survivors include sons, Robert of Orient, Clinton of Venice, Fla., Ervin of Winterset and Neil of Fountain, Colo.; a daughter, Ruby Luetjen of Cole Camp, Mo.; 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, a son, brother and sister.
